Floods sweep away five people


KGUZDAR July 16 (PPI): Rains played havoc in Khuzdar, Five persons including tow real brothers were swept away by flooding nullas and steams. A bridge along RCD highway broke down and traffic was suspended.
According to details heavy rains lashed several areas of Khuzdar. A vehicle swept away by rain water when a bridge along Quetta-Karachi section of RCD highway broke down between Tehsil Wadh and Ornach. On information Deputy Commissioner Sohailur Rehman Baloch rushed the scene along with Levies force and Tehsildar. FC troops also reached there and started rescue operation. Dead body of 9 year boy was found from steam in the area last night. Levies force recovered tow dead bodies early Sunday near Ornach. Those swept away by rain water belonged to Zhob.
Heavy machinery was called and Quetta-Karachi road was restored early during the day.
Two real brothers Osman and Bilal from Khuzdar went to mountains to collect firewood. They were swept away by water currents and died. Their bodies were also recovered and delivered to their relatives.
Deputy Commissioner spent whole night in rescue and relief in Saleeti area. Several kutchi abadis were inundated due to rain water and walls of several houses were razed to the ground. Crops were also damaged.
