UNGA resolution instilled new hope among subjugated nations: Naqash

SRINAGAR, Nov 23 (INP): Senior leader All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) and chairman Islamic Political Party – JK Mohammad Yousuf Naqash welcoming the passing of resolution by the UNGA regarding the right to self-determination of nations which was sponsored by Pakistan and backed by 72 countries, said the move is a great step and has given a new hope to all the nations across the world who are struggling for their right to self-determination

In a statement here on Wednesday, Yousuf Naqash said the passing of such resolution has given a new lease of life to the subjugated nations of the world and is a big blow to those countries having illegally occupied other territories.

He thanked all those countries who supported such resolution particularly Pakistan for its continuous support to Kashmir. He said such step has emboldened the spirit of subjugated nations like Kashmir and Palestine who have since decades fighting for their right of self-determination.

The APHC leader hoped that the resolution is supported by the United Nations next month and said the nations struggling for self-determination have pinned their hopes on the UN that it will not disappoint them and will provide them the universally declared right of self-determination.

Naqash appealed the world leadership to see the Kashmir dispute through the prism of humanity and play their role to resolve this issue as per the wishes and aspirations of its people which is the right of self-determination. 

He also stressed upon the UN and world leadership to pressurize India to end the human rights violations it is committing in Kashmir and allow the people of this disputed region to decide their political future.

The APHC leader said the people of Jammu Kashmir have been peacefully struggling for their right since last 70 years which India has been crushing through violent means and as such has killed about 5 lakh people. 

Mohammad Yousuf Naqash thanked Pakistan for continuously highlighting the Kashmir dispute and striving for finding its resolution. He said Pakistan has always been our well-wisher and we are extremely thankful to this country for its continuous political, moral and diplomatic support.
